The Shopper Barometer 2016 – Travel & holiday budgets under scrutiny

With continued economic uncertainty and intensified competition, it is increasingly important for the leisure industry to understand their customer’s needs and the importance of value in their decision making.

The Shopper Barometer 2016 study has examined current shopper trends, providing a snapshot of attitudes and spending habits to understand how behaviours are changing. Not surprisingly our study has identified that Britain’s household budgets are still under scrutiny and we’ve identified some of the key implications this is having on attitudes towards travel and holidays; from both a business and leisure perspective.

Download our infographic to discover consumers attitudes towards:

  • Budgeting for family holidays versus other leisure activities
  • Where families extra disposable income goes to
  • Preferred accommodation for families
  • Factors affecting hotel choice

In addition to travel and holidays, this year’s Barometer focuses on attitudes towards spending habits, grocery, healthcare and technology. At Future Thinking we provide an extensive understanding of the retail and leisure environment to evaluate shopper motivation, behaviour and customer experience across all channels and categories.
