Will rail passengers ever return? Why speaking to your customers is now more important than ever

It’s been a crazy few months for many businesses and the Train Operating Companies (TOCs) are no exception. Who could ever have envisaged a scenario where TOCs were actively discouraging their customers from travelling? But, of course, this was the case and, with the public generally following the guidance, passenger numbers declined by around 95% compared to pre-Covid-19 levels.

So, what can TOCs be doing at this stage to plan for the future?
