Shopper Barometer – Who’s pulling the purse strings?

shopper barometer - who's pulling the purse strings

The Shopper Barometer 2016 examines current shopper trends, providing a snapshot of attitudes and spending habits to understand how behaviours are changing, as well as identifying future consumer trends.

Our longitudinal study, now in its fourth year, has examined household budgets and it will come as no surprise to many that Britain’s consumer budgets are still under scrutiny.

Download our infographic to see which budgets are most under scrutiny this year.  Over ¾ of us have taken steps to cut back our spending but some categories are more protected than others.  This research shows how consumers are sorting the non-essentials from the must-haves.  Find out who’s feeling the pinch here.

In addition to budgets, this year’s Barometer focuses on attitudes towards spending habits, grocery, healthcare, technology, leisure and holidays. At Future Thinking we provide an extensive understanding of the retail environment for both retailers and manufacturers to evaluate shopper motivation, behaviour and customer experience across all channels and categories.
